How it’s made

Each piece of Rachel Jones Jewellery is carefully handmade in London, employing traditional goldsmithing techniques. Crafting at the bench gives us complete control over both the creation process and the choice of materials. Our close collaboration with the jewellery trade in Hatton Garden—the heart of London’s jewellery district—enables us to handpick gemstones from trusted suppliers. Skilled stone setters contribute their expertise, allowing us to confidently explore more intricate designs.

Rachel is dedicated to producing truly unique pieces by incorporating uncommon stones, using gold she alloys herself, and creating multiples of the same design without relying on standard casting methods. This meticulous approach guarantees that every piece you purchase is as distinctive as you are.

Handmade for you

Crafted with care in our studio using traditional goldsmithing techniques, including alloying our own colours of gold and incorporating inherited gold, these pieces are designed to become heirlooms of the future.

As an independent jewellery designer and maker, we take great joy in hand-selecting the gemstones that go into our jewellery. Each stone is chosen for a specific reason—whether it is a mesmerising colour, an interesting shape, or it has spectacular facets. This bespoke approach allows us to create truly one-of-a-kind pieces, just like our clients.

One-of-a-kind

This video shows just a snippet of the processes involved in crafting you jewellery in our central London studio.

We pride ourselves in the ability to transform your old, unworn or heirloom jewellery into something you will love and cherish. Your new piece will be imbued with the sentiment of the old jewellery.

Video Description: Here we are in the workshop melting down some old heirloom jewellery to turn it into an ingot that we then forge, roll and draw out to become the desired wire profile and dimensions. Then the wire is made into rings for our Wedding Ring Workshop couple. They created heirlooms of the future.

Goldsmithing Artistry

Each and every piece we made is carefully handcrafted using the finest materials—fine gold, fine silver, and copper—to create unique and exceptional colours of gold.

This meticulous process of alloying metals to achieve distinct gold hues is a specialist skill, practiced by only a tiny number of goldsmiths. We blend these metals with precision, ensuring that each creation is not only a piece of jewellery but a true work of goldsmithing artistry, reflecting dedication, expertise, and timeless pieces.
