MEET THE MAKER AT STUDIO VAULT
We Are really pleased to be offering a jam packed weekend in May with Jeweller Rachel Jones Jewellery. An Artist Talk, Meet the Maker event and a workshop lined up on the last weekend of May.
We have been showcasing Rachel’s Work in The Gallery since Spring 2022 and her fine jewellery collection instantly became one of our top sellers. She work’s with ethically sourced stones that are all traceable back to the mines where they where originally found and all the metal she uses is recycled. She has recently been developing a new style of work with the main emphasis on alloying and creating new golds, which are then married together with other colours of metals to create interesting patterns.
We are pleased to be offering our first ever Artist talk with Rachel where she will be discussing her experiences of the ethical and fair trade Jewellery industry as well as how she has created her very own Jewellery brand and what inspires her.
Artist Talk Friday 26th May 7.30pm till 8.30pm

‘Us at Work’ brings together Romilly Saumarez Smith and her ‘translators Rachel Jones, Lucie Gledhill, Anna Wales Laura Ngyou and Carola Solcia.
About Romilly…
I make through my ‘translators’. At first these were Lucie Gledhill and Anna Wales; now they are Rachel Jones and Laura Ngyou. They have become my hands as my own don't work any more. I ask for a sense of a hand behind the work rather than striving for mechanical perfection. This is a hard line to tread; the work must never look badly made but be confident and intended.
Alchemists attempted to purify, mature, and perfect certain materials. Rachel seeks to turn metals, in particularly, gold into as many colours as possible.
As artists mix oil paint to create various tones and shades, Rachel blends fine gold, silver, copper, palladium and platinum to create her own palette of gold.
‘The Art of Alchemy - Painting with Metal’ showcases one-ok-a-kind pieces of fine jewellery that explores colour. From colour changing bars of gold to spectrums of coloured opal and diamonds, Rachel brings colour to your your jewellery.
Rachel Jones is an award winning fine jeweller working from her London studio.

The exhibition, Drawn and Formed, will bring together a wide selection of craft work, from the intricate and beautiful jewellery of Andrew Lamb to the delicate detailed embroidery designs of Laura Baverstock. It will provide a unique insight into the process of drawing and working with wire; and will celebrate the very best UK craftspeople against a backdrop of historic work.
